9 enamel pins for book lovers

Anyone who knows me well knows I love enamel pins, and I’ve amassed quite the collection over the past few years. I have about 25 or so pinned to my denim jacket but I house the others in a box in my bedroom. I love how artists and illustrators manage to get so much details into them. The other thing I love to do is read – and what could be better than the combination of two of my favourite things?! So here’s a round-up of some of the best book-related pins I’ve got my eye on, in no particular order. Ready? Of course you are, you were BORN ready.

1. Happiness is a cup of tea, and a good book.

Accurate. This is from JellyButtonUK and available on Etsy.

2. Go away! I’m reading.

Isn’t it annoying when you’re trying to tuck into a brilliant book and there’s that one person who keeps asking you questions like “Have you seen the remote?” or “Are you sitting on the dog?” Let them know you just want them to go away by pointing to this pin as soon as they walk into the room. By Literary Emporium.

3. Night Owl Book Club

A club I would join in a flash. This is from Rather Keen, available from Etsy.

4. Sorry, I’m booked!

Books, hot beverages, and puns? I. Am. Here. For. It. From TinyBee Cards, via Etsy.

5. Of course, it’s Harry Potter

Gold, purple, glasses, thunderbolt. Perfect. From Nutmeg and Arlo, available from Etsy.

6. To Kill a Mockingbird

I’m not convinced this was the book the cat thought it was, but he seems to be into it anyway. Buy your own plotting cat from the Literary Emporium here.

7. Vogon Poetry, 3rd Worse in the Universe

If you haven’t read The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, then you are definitely missing out. Douglas Adams’ trilogy in four parts is a hilarious cult classic – pick up all four books on Amazon here, at the time of posting an incredibly cheap £5.88 for all four. Oh, you’ve already read it? Then share your love for the series with this awesome pin of vogon poetry from Hand Over Your Fairy Cakes.

8. The Golden Compass

It was actually a challenge to pick which of Jane Mount’s beautiful pins to add to the list – she has an incredible number of intricate enamel pins featuring books ranging from The Hobbit to Harriet The Spy. I love this tiny depiction of Philip Pullman’s The Golden Compass with its bold colours. Shop her collection of fantastic pins here, via her Etsy store.

9. The Book Was Better

Because let’s be honest – 99.9% of the time, it totally is. From Punky Pins.

Please note: images all belong to the creative geniuses behind the pins.
